YOUR FIRST GAME

Learn it by playing.

Nobody gets thrown in. The first thing you play is a practice round you cannot lose.

The practice round on a phone held sideways. A list called TRY IT names eight moves and the button for each: walk with the move pad, look by dragging on the right, then sprint, jump, climb, bonk, dive and shout. Kero stands between red lanterns in the practice yard with his bamboo stick, and the thumb buttons sit round the edges.
  1. Try every move

Walk, look, sprint, jump, climb, bonk, dive and shout. Each one ticks green when you do it.

  2. A quick check

The game tries your phone for a moment and picks the graphics setting that suits it.

  3. Choose a name

It goes on the scoreboard, so every name is checked before it is kept.

  4. Pick your fighter

Kero, Sensei or Goro, in one of seven colours. You pick once. It stays yours.
